Kids bikes in Geneva: where to ride, where to try one, how to get it delivered
In short: to get started, Parc des Évaux and the lakeside are perfect. For fun, there are pump tracks at Les Évaux and in Carouge. And to find the right bike, our showroom on Rue des Rois is open with no appointment needed, and we deliver ourselves across the canton.
Where to ride with your child in Geneva
Parc des Évaux, ideal for beginners
Spanning Onex, Confignon and Bernex, Parc des Évaux covers 55 hectares. Its wide paths, away from cars, are perfect for a first balance bike or the first pedal strokes. For older children, the Trail des Évaux has a dirt pump track and dirt jump lines.
The lakeside
Flat and wide, the quays along the lake make a lovely family ride, with a view of the Jet d'eau. There are lots of pedestrians, so ride slowly and keep your child close, especially at weekends.
The Geneva countryside
Once your child rides confidently, the small roads and paths of the Geneva countryside are great for first proper outings, between vineyards and fields. Choose quiet roads and stay by their side.
Pump tracks, for fun
A pump track is a loop of bumps and banked corners that you ride by "pumping" with your arms and legs, almost without pedalling. It is excellent for balance and bike control. In Geneva, you will find one at Parc du Boulodrome in Carouge, opened in October 2024 next to a skate plaza, and a dirt one at Les Évaux. Helmet and gloves recommended.
What the law says about children on bikes
- Up to the age of 12, children may ride on the pavement when there is no cycle lane or cycle path, giving way to pedestrians.
- Under 6, a child may only ride on a main road accompanied by someone aged at least 16.
- Helmets are not compulsory on a regular bike, but the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (BFU) strongly recommends one (EN 1078 standard).

Try a bike at our showroom, no appointment needed
Our showroom is at Rue des Rois 3, 1204 Geneva, inside BIKE SOLD. It is open Monday to Friday, 10:30 to 14:00 and 15:00 to 19:00, with no appointment needed.
Bring your child along: they try several sizes, we check their inseam and adjust the bike for them. It is also where you can return a bike that has become too small, free of charge. To prepare your visit, have a look at our size guide.
Delivery in Geneva and across Switzerland
- In the canton of Geneva and up to around Nyon, our own team delivers the bike.
- Elsewhere in Switzerland, the bike is sent by Swiss Post.
- Delivery of the first bike is free anywhere in Switzerland, and you have 14 days to try it at home.
- The bike is assembled and adjusted in our workshop. When sent by post, depending on the size, the front wheel and pedals need to be refitted, and an assembly guide is included.
Lightweight bikes, from balance bikes to 26 inch
We offer balance bikes from 18 months and bikes up to 26 inch, from brands such as Bemoov, Rascal, Naloo, Frog and Hornit.
